ATARI GAMES FAST FORWARDS INTO THE FUTURE OF RACING WITH SAN FRANCISCO RUSH 2049
Milpitas, CA – June 25, 1999 – Atari Games Corporation announces the release of San Francisco Rush 2049. This highly anticipated arcade title is next in the popular racing series and is designed with new game elements for a fresh experience.

Rush 2049 takes the driver 50 years into the future with a city landscape that looks familiar but definitely out there! The city is teeming with the effects of another Gold Rush, but this time it’s 200 years after the original discoveries. Mining for gold deep beneath the city has resulted in layers of underground tunnels where hidden gold coins can still be found by racers who dare to take these challenging shortcuts. Players can collect these valuable coins to upgrade game options such as a new paint job for their car.

"This release of  Rush 2049 was designed to eclipse the other versions so we emphasized the features that the fans like and added many new twists to make it more competitive and exciting," says John Ray, senior producer of the San Francisco Rush series. "We’ve also evolved the hardware to the next generation which will deliver the fastest Rush experience to date."

Rush 2049 adds three new tracks, from a beginner day track to an expert night track. There are also two hidden tracks that players can earn. All five tracks are available in mirror mode for a total of 10 racing challenges.  Each track has dynamic elements where track features change on every lap.

New to this release is a common driving model for each of the six player -select cars. Highly skilled drivers have an option to upgrade their car with advanced or expert driving models. Player selects also include paint jobs and racing with or without drones.
